Short version-A city for all !

A city for all !

Local elections will be held on October 9. CSV is ready to take on all of the council’s responsibilities. We want a capital city where councillors put the well-being of all citizens at the top of their agendas.

A council serving its citizens

… a modern council !

CSV wants more flexibility in administration opening hours, electronic access to all administrative processes, more transparency in the work of the city’s alderpersons, better communication with citizens and closer cooperation with local interest groups.

Sound local finance

… so we can take action when and where it is needed !

CSV wants a long-term investment plan, focusing on infrastructure for our children’s welfare and modernisation of our electricity and wastewater networks.

6 priorities for the next 6 years

Luxembourg – a great place to be

… a clean, green and safe city for citizens from all walks of life, of all ages and nationalities.

CSV wants to provide new crèches and social centres; a large venue for young people; more sheltered housing for the elderly and infirm; free admission to Luxemburgish courses; better coordination of city social services; safer and more accessible public spaces and public transport; more emphasis on environmental matters that affect our daily lives.

Luxembourg – a great place to live

… with more housing at affordable prices.

CSV wants consistent use of legal instruments of the “pacte logement“ and housing benefits; and new housing on sites belonging to the commune.

Luxembourg – a great place to work

… and therefore continues to expand as the country’s economic hub.

CSV wants to promote job creation primarily on Kirchberg, in the city centre and at the Cloche d’or; it wants to increase mutual economic development with neighbouring communes as set out in the IVL.

Luxembourg – easy to move around

… and easily reached by citizens and the 100,000 cross-border workers.

Together with the government and neighbouring communes, CSV wants to develop a mobility concept, around a possible tram, that extends beyond the city and country borders. Measures should include: bus lanes on major roads, a circle bus line, new “Park & Ride” stations, useful new roads, safe cycle lanes, shortcuts for pedestrians.

Luxembourg – good for shopping

… with vibrant shopping areas.

The CSV wants to breathe new life into the city centre and support local shops; improve information to shopkeepers about building sites; modernise the car parks and expand them wherever possible.

Luxembourg – a great place to get involved

… whether socially, culturally or in sports, there is something for everyone.

CSV wants proper facilities for clubs; significant investments in culture; an international music festival for young people; a summertime “Lëtzebuerg Plage” in the Petrusse valley; use of green spaces for sports and other leisure activities; new sites for concerts, cafés and discos to enhance the city’s night life.
