It is now over six months since we, the CSV, took our seats in the City Council. That has in itself not yet led to many visible changes on the ground, but be assured they will come. For in October last year we made two major promises when we asked voters for their trust.

A city with a dynamic commercial environment
To safeguard the future availability of small local businesses such as grocers, butchers, bakers and newsagents, the City Council will have a pre-emption right to acquire. So that if a local business were to close, the Council could take over the contract or business to pass it on to another interested party.
